Robert M. Lazerson DDS

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Robert Lazerson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  He attended the University of Illinois – Champaign, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. He then went on to  further his education and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry.  After completing dental school, Dr. Lazerson faithfully served his country in the [COUNTY] Navy, earning the esteemed rank of Lieutenant.  It was while in the US Navy that Dr. Lazerson decided to pursue a career as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.  When his time of military service was fulfilled, he entered a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Dr. Lazerson went on to complete advance Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton, England, followed by an academic appointment as Attending Staff in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Asuncion, Paraguay.  He decided to return to the [COUNTY] and settled in Atlanta, GA, where he has maintained a private practice since 1972.

Dr. Lazerson has served as a clinical instructor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University.  In addition, he is a certified instructor in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  Dr. Lazerson has been board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 1978. 

Dr. Lazerson specializes in dental implant reconstruction and bone grafting procedures.  Dr. Lazerson is a lifetime student and he has attended hundreds of hours of Continuing Education courses, maintaing his ability to perform cutting edge, state of the art therapy in dental implant reconstruction. 

Dr. Lazerson has been married to his wife, Carol, for over 40 years and has two daughters and 5 grandchildren.  He is an avid runner and has participated in the annual Peachtree race for over 30 consecutive years.
